Behaviour:
EOD waveform is of the kind produced by Pa-type electrocytes, with a small head-negative pre-potential, a large head-positive phase followed a large head-negative phase. EODs of juveniles and females are of short duration (1–1.5 ms), while mature male EODs are often considerably longer, between 7–12 ms in duration.

Max size = 300 mm SL.
Distribution:
Mormyrops (Oxymormyrus) boulengeri is widespread in the Central Congo basin, but absent from the Ogooué basin where M. zanclirostris also occurs. See Fishbase for museum records and localities.
