Campylomormyrus numenius
Distinguished from Campylomormyrus curvirostris, another very long-snouted species by having a feebly curved (versus strongly curved in C. curvirostris) snout, with its depth approx. 5% of its length (versus more than 8%), and a shorter caudal peduncle (3x as long as deep versus 4x). Lobes of caudal fin are obtusely pointed in C. numenius, while more distinctly pointed in C. curvirostris. (from Boulenger 1909.)
