Range Description:

Stomatorhinus corneti is known from Pool Malebo (Stanley Pool) and from the Lower Congo River basin. It is also known from Ouesso, Sangha River basin and from Koteli, Central Congo River basin.

Distribution:

Type locality is Stanley (Malebo) Pool. Very rare in collections. Records of this species from the Ivindo River of Gabon are Stomatorhinus ivindoensis. See Fishbase for museum records and localities.

Stomatorhinus corneti is a demersal species. Its electric organ discharge (EOD) is steroid-sensitive (Bass and Hopkins 1985 Landsman 1995). It exhibits sexual dimorphism in its EOD waveform (Mller 1995).
