Range Description:
Stomatorhinus fuliginosus is known from the Central Congo River basin. It is not known from the Kwango, Kasai and Sangha systems though. Specimens recently collected in the Lower Congo have tentatively been assigned to this species, but these need further examination to confirm whether the range of this species extends into the basin or if the Lower Congo specimens represent an undescribed species.
