A medium to large Paramormyrops with slender and elongate body, body depth, 15.2–17.1% SL, snout V-shaped from above. Elongate caudal peduncle, 24.5–27.4% SL. 16 circumpeduncular scales. Five teeth in upper jaw, six in lower. Dorsal rays, 19–21, anal rays, 24–27, total lateral line scales 74–78. Electric organ with electrocytes with non-penetrating stalks (Type NPp). Head gently rounded, sloping downward. Mouth subterminal, fleshy submental swelling present, HL 21–25% SL, snout 5.8–6.96% SL, 26–30% HL. Head width 41–51% HL, head angle 23–29°, snout angle 43-53°. Eye small, 8.5–11.4% HL, nostrils mid-way between eye and tip of snout, separated by about half to three-quarters of the interorbital width. Predorsal distance 55.8–58% SL, preanal distance 51–56% SL. Origin of anal slightly in advance of dorsal. Dorsal and anal fins elongate, pectoral fins elongate. This fish is a powerful swimmer. It exhibits a sharp snout, streamlined body form, elongate caudal peduncle and oversized fins to enable it to live in rapids, where it is often a predominant mormyrid.
Color: light brown to yellow above, yellowish gold below. Small dark brown spots irregular over the body surface.
