No types known. Not available, name published in synonymy of Mormyrus anguilloides by Linnaeus 1758, but validated back to Linnaeus according to ICZN Art. 11.6.1 by subsequent recognition as a valid species by Walbaum 1792. Based on Hasselquist 1757:398, a rejected work (ICZN Opinion 57).
