Mormyrops (Oxymormyrus) boulengeri
EOD waveform is of the kind produced by Pa-type electrocytes, with a small head-negative pre-potential, a large head-positive phase followed a large head-negative phase. EODs of juveniles and females are of short duration (1–1.5 ms), while mature male EODs are often considerably longer, between 7–12 ms in duration.
Max size = 300 mm SL.
Mormyrops (Oxymormyrus) boulengeri is widespread in the Central Congo basin, but absent from the Ogooué basin where M. zanclirostris also occurs. See Fishbase for museum records and localities.
