Isichthys henryi:
Isichthys henryi is a species of freshwater elephantfish in the family Mormyridae and the only member of its genus. It occurs in coastal river basins in West Africa, ranging as far southeast as the Kouilou-Niari River.[1] It reaches a length of about 29 cm.[1]

Isichthys henryi is a demersal species. It possesses electroreceptor's over the entire head, the dorsal region and some parts of the ventral region; absent from the side and the caudal peduncle where the electric organ is located. The Electric organ discharge (EOD) rates are of low frequency and sexually dimorphic as to waveform (Mller 1995).

Electric Organ Discharge:
EOD with two phases, an initial head-positive phase, followed by a head-negative phase. The overall duration is very long: 6.1-11.8 msec. There is a pronounced inflection point in the rising head-positive phase, leading to a sharp increase just before the first peak, P1. There is no initial head negativity. The electrocytes of the electric organ are non-penetrating and are innervated on the posterior surface (Type NPp).
