Range Description:

Stomatorhinus ater is only known from Kidada, in an affluent of the Lower Congo River basin, but has yet to be reported from the main channel of the Lower Congo.

Distribution:

Type locality is Kidada, Bas Congo. Also reported from Lékoli River in Odzala Park, R. Congo, NW Congo Basin. See Fishbase for museum records and localities.

Stomatorhinus ater is only known from Kidada, Lower Congo River basin. The species may be more widespread than is currently known. More information is needed on the species distribution before an assessment can be made.
