Range Description:

This species is known from the lower reaches of Kwanza River in Angola. It is possibly also occuring in other neighbouring Atlantic coastal systems.

Africa: Quanza, Kunene and upper Zambezi in Angola (Ref. 11970, 94473). Also in the Kasai (Ref. 41590) and middle Congo River (Ref. 41591) in Democratic Republic of the Congo. Possibly also in Pool Malebo (Ref. 45486).

The extent of occurrence is not yet clear but the Kwanza is a large river system not threatened at present by pollution or other impacts likely to have adverse impacts on the species. It is therefore assessed as Least Concern.
