Potamodromous. Migrating within streams, migratory in rivers, e.g. Saliminus, Moxostoma, Labeo. Migrations should be cyclical and predictable and cover more than 100 km.

The extent of occurrence is not yet clear but the Kwanza is a large river system not threatened at present by pollution or other impacts likely to have adverse impacts on the species. It is therefore assessed as Least Concern.

Range Description:

This species is known from the lower reaches of Kwanza River in Angola. It is possibly also occuring in other neighbouring Atlantic coastal systems.
