Range Description:

Stomatorhinus microps is known throughout the Lower Congo River basin. It is also known from the Boumba River, Dja River basin, Central Congo River basin, Cameroon and from the Wagenia Falls (Stanley Falls). Records from outside the Lower Congo need confirmation.

Justification

Stomatorhinus microps is known from the Lower Congo River basin. It is also known from the Boumba River, Dja River basin, Central Congo River basin, Cameroon and from the Wagenia Falls (Stanley Falls). The elaboration of the Inga dam project with Inga 3 and Grand Inga, and the possibility of mining in the Luozi region, could pose future threats to the species. The species is known from maximum five locations.
